
MBB Week 1 Recap
The Conestoga Condors Men's Basketball team had a tough start of the OCAA season with two losses against the Fanshawe Falcons (1-1) and the Niagara Knights (1-1).
The Condors' first match was an away game against the Fanshawe Falcons on Wednesday, February 9. The Condors had a slow start; the halftime score was 70 – 22. However, Condors had a strong performance in the last quarter and were able to score 35 points.
Terell Lloyd scored 27 points and was the highest-scoring player in the game, Rylan Ninaber scored 17 points, and Sam Pingle grabbed 6 rebounds. Despite a late-game push, Condors suffer their first loss by a final score of 115 – 70.
Two days later, Condors played the home opener game against Niagara Knights. Terell Lloyd continued his outstanding performance and had a strong offensive showing; the forward netted 24 points, grabbed 8 rebounds, and achieved 6 steals. Rylan Ninaber scored 12 points, and Damian De Los Santos grabbed 7 rebounds. Despite solid efforts, Condors (0-2) had their second loss by a final score of 84 – 70.
After the high scoring week from Terell Lloyd it leaves him second in OCAA PPG after week 1.
The Condors will be playing an away game against the Royals (1-1) on Wednesday, February 16, at 8 PM. The Condors will return home on February 18 to face off against the Canadore Panthers (0-2) at 3 PM
At this time no specatators are permitted inside the Student Recreation Centre.
