Do you want to get started in your fitness journey but are not sure where to start? These programs are designed to instruct and motivate you to get started and feel more confident doing so! The following four programs are slower paced than fitness classes with many modifications for all levels:

  • Introduction to Weight Training
  • Barbell Basics 
  • Ladies Who Lift
  • Condors Run Club - NEW

How to Sign Up: Click the register button below each class to sign up for the class.

Membership: You must have an active full membership. For more information click here.

Cost: FREE, Available to all current Conestoga full-time Doon and Cambridge Fountain students!

What You Need: Water bottle and comfortable clothing.


Introduction to Weight Training

Mondays @ 3:00PM-4:00PM
Multi-Purpose Room 

This program is designed to help students build a strong foundation in weight training by learning key movements such as the squat, hinge, lunge, push, and pull. Whether you're new to fitness or looking to sharpen your technique, this is the perfect opportunity to develop your skills and gain confidence in the gym!

Barbell Basics

Tuesdays and Thursdays @ 3:00PM-4:00PM
Fitness Centre Track Area 

Learn proper form and technique for a variety of different dumbbell and barbell exercises. Knowing how intimidating it can be, our Certified Personal Trainer will provide you with a supportive space to get comfortable using barbells and dumbbells. In this program you will learn proper form for the squat, deadlift, bench press, and row. This is a technique-oriented class.

Ladies Who Lift

Wednesdays @ 3:00PM-4:00PM
Multi-Purpose Room

Ladies Who Lift is a female-identifying only program designed to create a supportive, welcoming space where you can learn everything you need to feel empowered in the gym. Led by Emma, a Certified Personal Trainer, you'll learn fundamental movements and exercises each week — gaining strength, skills, and confidence along the way.

Condors Run Club - NEW 

Mondays @ 4:00-5:00pm & Thursdays @ 11:00am-12:00pm 
Fitness Centre Track Area + Outside 

Join our Condors Run Club and train to run your first 5K while boosting your cardiovascular fitness in a supportive, beginner-friendly environment. Whether you're just starting out or looking to improve your endurance, we’ll guide you every step of the way. Meet new people, enjoy the outdoors, and have fun as you build healthy habits together. All fitness levels welcome!
