Four Condors Named CCAA Academic All-Canadians

The Conestoga Condors are proud to announce that four outstanding student-athletes have been recognized as CCAA Academic All-Canadians, the most prestigious honour awarded by the Canadian Collegiate Athletic Association.

This national award celebrates student-athletes who achieve honours academic standing while also competing at an elite level in their sport. It is a rare distinction that highlights a commitment to excellence both in the classroom and in competition.

2024–25 CCAA Academic All-Canadians from Conestoga:

Hayley Mackie – Women’s Soccer
A leader on and off the pitch, Mackie was named Team MVP after scoring 7 goals in just 10 games. She was also selected as an OCAA West Division First-Team All-Star. Her impact on the field and her strong academic record earned her this well-deserved recognition.

Matteo Grant – Men’s Soccer
In his rookie season, Grant made an immediate impression. He was named OCAA Men’s Soccer Rookie of the Year, earned First-Team All-Star honours, and was selected to the West Division All-Rookie Team. Starting all 10 games, he recorded 3 goals and 2 assists while maintaining honours academic standing.

Walker Kalin – Men’s Volleyball
Kalin anchored the Condors' offence and helped lead the team to a 12-6 regular season record. With 211 kills (5th in the OCAA) and an average of 3.8 points per set, he was named a First-Team All-Star and the team’s MVP. His academic achievements matched his dominant play on the court.

Tyrell Belgrove – Men’s Volleyball
Another key piece of the Condors’ success, Belgrove recorded 201 kills (7th in the OCAA) and averaged 3.7 points per set. His consistent high-level and high-flying play earned him OCAA West Division First-Team All-Star honours. He also stood out academically to earn this national recognition.

“These student-athletes exemplify what it means to be a Condor,” said Matthew Schnarr, Manger, Varsity and Community Engagement. “Balancing academic rigour with high-level athletic performance is no easy task, and this award recognizes their exceptional dedication and work ethic.”
