Position Description

Overview

The Varsity Events Assistant will be involved in the preparation, organization, and implementation of varsity events and game day activities. The incumbent will work with Athletics and Recreation staff to help develop events and game day experiences. They may be required to work with technical and statistical operation of our varsity game days.  The Varsity Events assistant may also assist with larger athletics and greater college and community events. The position will be scheduled for up to 15 hours per week, depending on department needs. The rate of pay is $17.63 per hour. The start date is August 2025 for training and regular hours will begin September 2025.

Roles and Responsibilities

• Plan, prepare and organize varsity events and activities
• Support game day operations of varsity athletics
• Set up and tear down game day equipment
• Other duties as required

Qualifications

• Be in a full-time degree, diploma or certificate program in the Fall 2025 semester, approved for funding by the Ministry of Training, Colleges and Universities (MTCU), OR enrolled in the Fall 2025 semester. 
• Maintain a full-time course load Fall 2025 term. Part-time studies may be allowed for students who are registered with Accessibility Services and require a reduced load
• Have a valid Social Insurance Number
• Available to work daytime, evening, and/or weekend work hours
