Return to the Court - Varsity Winter 2024 Preview

As we step into the Winter semester for the second half of the 2023-2024 season, the Conestoga Condors are gearing up for an exciting return to the court. Let's dive into the thrilling preview of what promises to be a dynamic and competitive second half of the season.

Women’s Basketball

The Women's Basketball team is currently ranked 8th in the OCAA West. Their fall semester concluded with a resounding 74-33 victory against Sheridan. Over the break, the team sharpened their skills with two exhibition wins, defeating George Brown 64-60 and Seneca 61-45. With an eye on climbing the rankings, the first game back is an away game against Niagara College on January 12th. Make sure to mark your calendars for the home game on January 17th at 6 PM, when they face off against the Humber Hawks. Come out and show your support for the Condors!

Men’s Basketball

The Men’s Basketball team also holds the 8thspot in the OCAA West. Their pre-break highlight was a thrilling overtime victory against the Humber Hawks. Exhibition games over the break showcased the team's determination and skill, and scores were split with a 96-79 defeat to the Seneca Sting and a resilient win versus the Centennial Colts with a score of 95-91. Join us in cheering them on for their first game back on January 12that the Niagara College Nights and at home on January 17th at 8 PM when they face the Humber Hawks.

Women’s Volleyball

The Women’s Volleyball Team stands tall in the 4th position in OCAA West and 9thin the province. The fall semester concluded with a strong 3-1 win over Redeemer. During the break, the team participated in the Adidas Cup hosted by Durham College. The results didn’t speak to their efforts, as they finished with a 0-4 record. The excitement continues on January 12th at 6 PM when they face the Sheridan Bruins at home. Come out and support your Condors!

Men’s Volleyball

The Men's Volleyball team has been on fire, securing 2nd place in OCAA West and 4th in the province. The fall semester ended with a remarkable three-game win streak, conquering Sheridan, Mohawk, and Redeemer. Get ready for an exhilarating return on January 12th at 8 PM when they face the Sheridan Bruins at home. Show your Condors pride and cheer them on to victory!

Badminton

The Badminton team has been working hard in training and recently participated in the OCAA Invitational on October 13th and 14th, hosted by Humber College, and the OCAA Invitational on November 17 -19th, hosted by Fanshawe Collage. Excitement is building as they head to Centennial College for their final tune-up to prepare and gear up for the OCAA West Regional Tournament hosted by Conestoga on February 2nd and 3rd. Stay tuned as our skilled badminton players showcase their talent and compete on their home court.

In addition to hosting the Badminton OCAA West regional tournament, the Condors are proud hosts of the Regional Indoor Soccer Tournament on February 26th at The Ontario Soccer Centre, where our Men’s and Women’s Soccer teams will look to build on their exciting outdoor seasons.
