2024 WCSSAA Boys Basketball All-Star Game Recap

The Conestoga College Athletics Department proudly hosted the 2024 WCSSAA Boys Basketball All-Star Game at the Conestoga College Student Recreation Center. This exciting event, held on Friday, March 24th, 2024, was an excellent display of talent, a gathering of community, and a celebration of sportsmanship.

The evening began with the Junior Boys' game at 6 PM, followed by the skills competitions and ended with the Senior Boys' game at 8 PM; the games featured local rising stars from WCSSAA, showcasing the best of the best in the region.

The presence of the basketball community was felt as the stands were filled with supportive families, friends and fans, all rallying behind the participating athletes. Below are the All-Star players who represented their respective schools:

These athletes not only showcased outstanding skill and talent but also embodied the values of excellence in athletics. Their performances were a testament to their hard work, dedication, and sportsmanship.

Four stand-out athletes were selected by Conestoga Condors Men's Basketball Head Coach Avery Sutton as game MVPs. From the Junior team's, Patrick Fordyce of FHCI & Shahzaib Murtaza of LHSS and from the Senior teams, Galin Moir of WCI & Kareem Aljaibat of GRCI.

The two ball competition winners were Ibrahim Yusuf and Patrick Fordyce of FHCI.

The three-point competition winner was Anthony Kostin of GRCI.

And the dunk competition winner was David Chokor of LHSS.

During half-time of the Senior game, the WCSSAA Boys Basketball Awards were announced.

The following players were named as 2024 WCSSAA Senior Boys Second Team All-Stars:

  • Andrew O'Toole (FHCI)
  • Leif Pleau (LHSS)

The following players were named as 2024 WCSSAA Senior Boys First Team All-Stars:

  • Said Mohamed (CHCI)
  • Wani Ujullu Obang (CHCI)
  • Duncan VanKoughnett (BCI)

Wani Ujullu Obang, from Cameron Heights, was named 2023/2024 Mike Moser WCSSAA Senior Boys Basketball Most Valuable Player.
