Dana played for the Conestoga Condor's Varsity Hockey Team from 1980 to 1981. He was the assistant captain, was a right winger, and earned much recognition for his skill and playing ability. Due to his obvious talent, Dana was selected to play on the OCAA All-Star Team. In the 1980/81 hockey season, Dana led the league in scoring and helped Conestoga successfully earn a Bronze Medal at the Canadian College Athletic Association Championships held at Conestoga. Dana graduated in 1981 from Conestoga College, in Accounting.
