WVB Look To Finish Season Strongly

The Conestoga Condors Women’s Volleyball team (1-5) had a tough week and received two losses against the Fanshawe Falcons (4-3) and the number 6 ranked Mohawk Mountaineers (5-1).  

The Condors played their second home game against the Falcons. Despite the good start, the Condors lost the game 3-0; the set scores were 27-25, 25-14, and 25-23.

Nicole Hellinga contributed with 7 points and 6 assists. Hellinga pushed the Falcons in the third set going on 5 straight service aces to bring the score 23-23. Libby Bauman scored 6 points, 5 kills, and added 4 digs. 

Three days later, the Condors travelled to Hamilton to face the nationally ranked Mountaineers. Overall, the Condors could never settle into the game and lost 3-0.

Marissa Smith contributed with 7 points, including 3 kills. Hellinga and Bauman added 3 kills each.

Hellinga showed a staggering performance in her service ability and versatility She is awarded as the Female Condor of the Week. 

The Condors will be visiting the Royals (1-4) on Tuesday, March 1, at 8 pm. The Condors will return home on the weekend to close out their regular season against the Vipers(0-7) and Golden Shield (6-1). You can watch the game live here: https://portal.stretchinternet.com/conestoga/.
