Condors Varsity Weekly Recap March 4th - March 10th

In the last week of Condor's varsity sports, let's delve into the latest highlights and results:

The Highlights

Women's Indoor Soccer – The Women's Indoor Soccer team competed at the OCAA Provincial Tournament held at the Ontario Soccer Centre on March 7th. Unfortunately, the ladies did not advance to the semi-finals, as they were just one point short, but they did have an impressive tournament.

Game scores unfolded as follows:

  • Conestoga 1 – Durham 3
  • Conestoga 2 – Sheridan 1
  • Conestoga 1 – St. Clair 1

That concludes the Women's Indoor Soccer teams' successful season.

Men's Indoor Soccer – The Men's Indoor Soccer team also team competed at the OCAA Provincial Tournament held at the Ontario Soccer Centre on March 7th. The men won all three games, finishing top of their pool and advancing to the semi-final game. The men defeated George Brown in the semi-final game, sending them to the final, where, in an exciting game, they unfortunately lost 3-1 to Humber, earning them an OCAA Provincial Silver medal.

Game scores were as follows:

  • Conestoga 4 – Seneca 1
  • Conestoga 2 – Centennial 1
  • Conestoga 2 – Fanshawe 0
  • Conestoga 2 – George Brown 1
  • Conestoga 1 – Humber 3

The men conclude their year with an OCAA provincial Goal (outdoor), OCAA provincial silver (indoor), and a CCAA National Silver (outdoor). What a year it has been for this squad.

Esports

Things are starting to heat up as teams are wrapping up the regular season matches and are preparing for playoffs!

Rocket League  - The Rocket League team experienced multiple high-stakes matches that determined whether or not the team would pass into the NECC playoffs. They started the week against Illinois State University (NACE) and, unfortunately, couldn't match up against them, ending in a 0 - 3 loss. The team, however, brought it back, ending the week with an excellent 3 - 1 win against Rochester Institute of Technology (NACE), earning their spot in the NACE playoffs!

Valorant Gold – The Valorant Gold team experienced an off week, seeing two losses this week against both Brewton-Parker College (ECAC) and St. Clair University (NECC). The team remains determined to rebound back and secure some wins next week!

Valorant White – The Valorant White team had a good start to their match, but they slowly ran out of options as a long series ended with their opponent, the University of Louisiana (ECAC), taking the win 1 -  2.

Call of Duty - The Call of Duty team has a dominant 3 - 1 win against James Madison University (NACE), continuing their undefeated streak!

League of Legends – The League of Ledges team has two matches this week. They started with an unlucky 0 - 2 loss against Purdue University (NECC) but ended the week on a happy note with an FF win against the University of Michigan (NECC)!
