2023 Men's Volleyball Season Preview

Last Season Recap 

The upcoming men’s volleyball preseason brings renewed ambition and determination for the Condors after a challenging last season. Finishing 9th last year with a record of 4-14. However, there is a sense of optimism as the team grows and works hard to overcome their past challenges. Last season was learning experience for the young team, where they discovered the demands of competition and what it takes to win at this level. 

Returning Players 

Walker Kalin, right side player, stands out as a returning significant offensive threat. Kalin’s ability to secure points and lead the attack will be crucial for the team’s success. On the left side, Evan Kritz and Aaron Morrison add depth to the group that will need to build on last year. Not only are Kritz and Morrison outstanding defenders and passers, but Morrison also takes on the role as team captain, providing leadership on and off the court. It is no doubt these returning players are the backbone of the team’s transformation. 

 New Players 

To strengthen the team, the squad has welcomed four key transfers: Eric Chien, Marcus Ahmadzai, Jason Ashley, and Daven Ho. These new additions bring a unique experience from playing in the OCAA, including past podium finishes. Their veteran leadership and exposure to high level competitions will be highly valuable for the team.  

 2023/24 Goals 

The main objective for the men’s volleyball team is to reach their peak performance by February, to ensure they are in the best possible shape for the upcoming season. The squad is determined to leave their hardships in the past and make a strong effort to secure a playoff spot. The ultimate goal is to compete for the OCAA Championship, and the team is determined to put in the hard work now to make that a reality come February.
