Varsity & Athletic Operations Manager Joins the Condors Team

The Athletics & Recreation Department is pleased to welcome Matthew Schnarr as the newest team administrator overseeing the areas of Varsity Athletics & Facility Operations.

Matthew is joining the Condors from Mohawk College where he spent the better part of 16 years in a variety of positions including, men’s and women’s volleyball Head Coach, and most recently held the position of Supervisor, Varsity and Community Engagement. 

During Matthew’s 10-year tenure with the men’s volleyball team, he was able to lead the program to three OCAA gold medals, two silver medals and four bronze medals.  In the 2021/22 season, he led the women’s volleyball program to the OCAA Championship, where they captured a silver medal.  As a Supervisor, Matthew helped re-shape the Mountaineer Varsity program, placing the student athlete at the focal point of their operation.  Matthew brings with him a student-centered approach to his work through his experience as Vice Present – Campus Recreation with Ontario Collegiate Recreation (OCR), and most recently through his appointment as an Administrative Staff to Mohawk’s Board of Governors.
