Men’s Soccer Cleans Up OCAA Awards

Congratulations to our men’s soccer athletes for their recognition in the OCAA during the 2022/23 season.

At this year’s OCAA Men’s Soccer Championship, our men’s soccer team was recognized in four major award categories as well as receiving five OCAA all star seleections. Josip Stojanovic was selected by OCAA and West Division coaches as the OCAA overall and West Division rookie of the year with his prowess on the pitch and penchant for finding the back of the net.  Josip led the Condors with seven goals while adding one assist in the 2022/23 campaign helping the condors to a nine win and one loss regular season. Our head coach Stuart Mackie, in only his 2nd season at the helm, was awarded the OCAA and West Division Coach of the Year after leading the program to one, if not the best, season in the program’s history. With Mackie’s youthful enthusiasm and genuine care for each athlete, he finished the regular season with the Condors ranked top 10 in the country. Stuart is the OCAA nominee for CCAA coach of the year for upcoming CCAA championships at Langara College.  Rounding out the awards night was the selection of two first team all stars and three second team all stars. Malachi Ramsay and Pedja Jovicic were named 1st team all stars for their play on the pitch followed up by Carson Davison, Josip Stojanovic and Alex Amaral as 2nd team all stars for their play. Although their playoff performance wasn’t what they had hoped for, the future is bright for the young condor squad.
