Men's Volleyball Season Preview
Preseason Play
Conestoga Condors Men's Volleyball Team completed their pre-season preparation and hope to repeat their sucess from the 2019-20 season, where they finished, they finished second in the West Division, with an incredible record of 14-4, an OCAA quarter-finals appearance and were ranked #10 in Canada.
Conestoga Condors have played 3 pre-season games, against the Sheridan Bruins, St. Clair Saints and Fanshawe Falcons. Condors won the first game against St Clair 3-2 and lost the second game against the Falcons 3-2. In a close fourth set that saw the Condors take a 31-29 set win to push it to a fifth and final set. Brendan Vandergeest led the way with 20 kills.
The Condors will take on the Saints and Falcons one more time throughout the season in the OCAA West Division. The Condors will play every team once in the west division, making up 9 total games.
The Team
The 2021-2022 Squad has 5 returning players including outside hitters Alex Bowden, Vandergeest, and Matt Visser. Seven fresh faces make up the rest of the Condors squad.
Kelly McGuire enters his fourth year as Coach. Josh Hone and Daniel Musselman are the Assistant Coaches.
Schedule
Condors start the 2021-22 OCAA regular season on February 10, at 8:00 pm, against the Hawks in an away game. They return home the Condors Nest February 20 to face the Niagara Knights at 3:00pm. To see the full Condor MVB schedule click here.
