Men's Basketball Recap - November 22

November 22nd, 2019…KITCHENER – The visiting Mohawk Mountaineers men’s basketball team didn’t waste any time out of the gate. They defeated the Condors 95-91 after a very offensive match.

The Condors couldn’t get anything going early and the Mountaineers took advantage with their 3-point shooting. They went 13-36 at the 3-point range. Mountaineer’s guard Daniel Graham led the way for them with 22 points, with the assistance of the bench Steven Lemay, who scored 20 points.

Offensively the Condors had a good rhythm throughout the game, however, a few defensive short-comings lost them the game. Conestoga’s Avery Sutton (Kitchener, ON) made 24 points, Efosa Agbonze (Kitchener, ON) made 19 points and 13 rebounds, Stefan Simic (Kitchener, ON) made 19 points and Tanoundy Sylla (Ottawa, ON) made 14 points.

“They played hard, we tried to match them, we just didn’t come out in the first quarter meeting their energy and that gave them the confidence they needed to shoot the 3 like they do. They were 13-36, we made that a key, we didn’t stop them from doing it and lost the game. And it was that simple” said Head Coach, Matthew Buckley.
